Dry and Tangled Hair Extensions

A Complete Guide to Care, Prevention & Fixes

Causes of Dry and Tangled Hair Extensions

Understanding why your hair extensions are drying out or becoming tangled is the first step to proper care and maintenance.

Lack of Moisture

Human hair extensions need hydration like natural hair. Exposure to heat, sun, or dry climates can strip moisture.

Incorrect Washing Techniques

Rough washing, hot water, or harsh shampoos (e.g., sulfates) can damage cuticles.

Poor Storage

Storing extensions loosely can cause friction and tangling.

Skipping Conditioning

Without regular conditioning, hair loses its softness and becomes prone to knots.

Heat Damage

Overuse of styling tools (flat irons, curling wands) without heat protectant dries out hair.

  1. When I went to straighten the extensions on a low heat setting after having them now for a month they burned as if they were not human hair. Any way I can get them replaced? I purchased on amazon.

  2. I have ordered this hair before and it was not this bad
I just put it in last week and already it is all dry. Rizzy and the colour isn’t even what I ordered. I’m not impressed with this and I would like to send it back for a refund after paying $200 to put it in now, I have to take it out because it is not good at all. Looks awful.
