Hair loss – Moresoo

At Moresoo, we craft premium hair extensions to meet the highest standards.

While shedding can occasionally occur due to natural hair properties or handling, we’re here to help you troubleshoot and resolve any concerns.

1. Why Do Hair Extensions Shed?

 A. Normal Shedding (Minor)

– Natural Hair Behavior: Human hair extensions may shed 5-10 strands daily, similar to natural hair.

– Manufacturing Process: Hand-tied wefts may lose loose hairs initially (typically stops after 1-2 wears).

 B. Excessive Shedding (Potential Issues)

– Weak Weft Construction: Poorly secured knots/wefts due to manufacturing defects.

– Improper Care: Rough brushing, excessive heat, or harsh chemicals.

– Installation Damage: Tears from DIY cutting, glue residue, or tight braiding.

2. Is It a Quality Issue? Assess in 3 Steps

Step 1: Check the Weft

– Gently run fingers along the weft. If >15 hairs detach from the same spot, it may indicate weak bonding.

Step 2: Review Usage

– Did you:

  – Use high heat (>350°F/175°C) without heat protectant?

  – Brush aggressively from the roots?

  – Expose extensions to chlorine/saltwater?

Step 3: Compare Shedding Levels

– Normal: 5-15 strands/day after installation.

– Concerning: Clumps of hair, visible gaps in wefts, or shedding >30 strands/day.

3. Solutions for Shedding Extensions

 A. For Minor Shedding

– Seal the Weft: Apply a small amount of clear fabric glue (non-damaging, water-soluble) to loose knots.

– Adjust Care Routine:

  – Brush gently with a loop brush from tips to roots.

  – Wash with sulfate-free shampoo and air-dry.

  – Avoid sleeping with wet hair.

 B. For Defective Products

1. Document the Issue: Take photos/videos of shedding areas and wefts.

2. Contact Support: reach out to customer service with order ID + photos or videos within 30 days of delivery.

3. Fast Replacement/Refund: We’ll ship a new set or refund immediately if confirmed as a quality issue.

4. Prevent Future Shedding

– Installation:

  – Trim wefts with sharp scissors (never tear).

  – Use professional installers for bonded extensions.

– Maintenance:

  – Store extensions flat or hung-never crumpled.

  – Deep condition weekly with protein-based masks.

– Avoid: Bleaching, excessive dyeing, or backcombing.

5. FAQ: Quality & Shedding

Q: How much shedding is normal for new extensions?

A: Losing 10-20 strands initially is normal as loose hairs shed. This should reduce after the first wash.

Q: Can I repair shedding extensions myself?

A: For minor shedding, sealing knots with fabric glue works. For severe cases, contact us for a replacement.

Q: My extensions tangled and shed-is this a defect?

A: Tangling often results from dryness. Use a silicone-free conditioner and detangle gently. If shedding persists, reach out.

6. Our Quality Promise

Every Moresoo extension undergoes:

– Double-Wefting: Reinforced stitching for durability.

– Ethical Sourcing: 100% Remy human hair, cuticle-intact.

– Rigorous Testing: Pre-shipment tension + shedding checks.
