Causes & Fixes of tape ins not sticking
Solutions to keep your hair system secure and natural-looking

Common Causes of tape-not-working
1️⃣ Improper Surface Preparation
-Cause: Natural oils, dirt, or residue on the hair/scalp can prevent the adhesive from bonding.
-Solution: Cleanse the hair thoroughly with a clarifying shampoo before application. Avoid conditioners or oils near the roots.

2️⃣ Incorrect Application Technique
-Cause: Insufficient pressure during application.
-Solution: Press firmly for 10–15 seconds after placing each tape.

3️⃣ Environmental Factors
-Cause: Humidity, sweat, or high heat can weaken adhesive bonds over time.
-Solution: Avoid excessive heat styling near the tapes.

4️⃣ Product Storage Issues
-Cause: Storing tapes in extreme temperatures (e.g., direct sunlight, freezing conditions) degrades the adhesive.
-Solution: Store tapes in a cool, dry place (15-25℃) away from moisture.

5️⃣ Natural Hair Type
-Cause: Very fine, oily, or chemically treated hair may struggle to hold adhesives.
-Solution: Apply a scalp oil-control product pre-installation.

6️⃣ Defective Product
-Cause: Adhesive tapes damaged during shipping.
-Solution: Contact customer service for a replacement if defects are suspected.

Preventive Tips
✅ – Wash with silicone-free shampoo
Regular shampoos with silicone can leave behind a sticky film.
Using a shampoo without silicone helps keep your hair system clean and free of buildup.
✅ – Keep it dry for 48 hours
Right after your hair system is put on, the glue or tape needs time to stick really well.
Avoid swimming, taking baths, using saunas, or doing anything that makes you sweat a lot for the first two days.
✅ – Replace the adhesive tape every two weeks.
The sticky tape that holds your hair system in place loses its grip over time.
Replacing it every two weeks helps keep your hair feeling secure and comfortable.

Why Is My Hair System Falling Out? Common Causes & Fixes
If your hair system is falling out, it can be frustrating and embarrassing. But don’t worry—this issue is often fixable! Below, we break down the most common reasons why hair systems fall out and how to prevent it from happening again.
6 Reasons Your Hair System Keeps Falling Out
1️⃣ Poor Surface Preparation
- Cause: Natural oils, dirt, or product buildup on your scalp can weaken the adhesive, causing your hair system to fall out prematurely.
- Solution: Use a clarifying shampoo before installation to remove oils and residue. Avoid conditioners near the roots, as they can create slippage.
2️⃣ Incorrect Application Technique
- Cause: If you don’t apply enough pressure when securing the tapes, the bond won’t be strong enough, leading to your hair system falling out.
- Solution: Press firmly for 10–15 seconds on each tape section to ensure a secure hold.
3️⃣ Humidity & Sweat
- Cause: Excessive moisture (sweat, humidity, or swimming) can loosen the adhesive, making your hair system fall out faster.
- Solution:
- Avoid heavy workouts or saunas for the first 48 hours after installation.
- Use an anti-humidity spray if you live in a moist climate.
4️⃣ Improper Tape Storage
- Cause: Storing tapes in extreme heat or cold can degrade the adhesive, reducing its stickiness and causing your hair system to fall out.
- Solution: Keep tapes in a cool, dry place (15-25°C) away from direct sunlight.
5️⃣ Oily or Fine Hair
- Cause: If your scalp produces excess oil or your hair is very fine, adhesives may not hold well, increasing the risk of your hair system falling out.
- Solution: Apply a scalp primer or oil-control product before installation.
6️⃣ Defective or Old Tape
- Cause: Expired or damaged tapes won’t stick properly, leading to slippage.
- Solution: Replace tapes every 2 weeks and check for manufacturing defects before use.
How to Prevent Your Hair System from Falling Out
✅ Use a Silicone-Free Shampoo
- Silicone leaves a residue that weakens adhesive bonds. Switch to a clarifying shampoo for a cleaner base.
✅ Avoid Moisture for 48 Hours
- After installation, keep your hair dry for at least two days to let the adhesive set properly.
✅ Replace Tapes Regularly
- Old tapes lose grip over time. Change them every 2 weeks for maximum security.
✅ Check for Allergies
- If your scalp gets irritated, you may need a hypoallergenic tape to prevent reactions that loosen the bond.
